Today
Glasatelier Oud Rijswijk is one of the top three specialized restoration studios in the Netherlands. Director Peter Heijman chose to focus on both restoration work and new, original works – many of which incorporate stained glass painting or other special elements.
There are  ten workers in the studio, including two part-time personnel. There are ten workers in the studio, including two part-time personnel. Specialized teams, including two construction companies experienced in restorations, work outside the studio removing and installing stained glass windows. Another team works inside the studio. The atelier also has two specialized designer / stained glass painters.

The main working area is 2 stories high and open. Offices, the library and the stained glass painting area ring one side on the upper floor. There are separate rooms for specific tasks (taking old windows apart and cleaning, photography, puttying windows, painting, kiln operation). The offices are equipped with modern multimedia equipment.
Since the move to Zoetermeer much attention has been placed on worker safety and environmental protection. In 2003 Glasatelier Oud Rijswijk was awarded the 2nd prize in the national Good Practices Competition for companies that work with dangerous materials.



History
Glasatelier Oud Rijswijk opened in 1975 in Rijswijk, just outside The Hague. Owners Peter and Marja Heijman began with a glass atelier, framing business and gallery. In the summer of 1998 the business moved to the current location in Zoetermeer. Since then the atelier has focused exclusively on stained glass.



Vision
Glasatelier Oud Rijswijk BV offers high quality services for restoration as well as new construction projects. Quality and long-lasting construction, materials and techniques are utilized.
